Garelochhead and the Peninsula are served by the full range of public, voluntary and private services, most of them providing services directly in the area, and many others located in Helensburgh.
Within the area are three primary schools, with easy access beyond the area to secondary and special schools.
Argyll and Bute Council has a number of other services, including libraries of which there are three in the area.
The area has two medical centres with general practitioners and community health staff based there and providing a range of clinic services. Social care services can be accessed through a Council office in Helensburgh, and provided by council voluntary and private sectors staff to people at home across the area.
In addition, there is extensive community activity, offering not only advice and support to local people, but also work to maintain and improve the local environment and facilities through Community Councils, Community Trusts and other organisations.
