THE Queen’s Golden Jubilee will be marked by a chain of beacons around Britain ... and one will be on the Rosneath Peninsula.

THE Queen’s Golden Jubilee will be marked by a chain of beacons around Britain ... and one will be on the Rosneath Peninsula.
Members of the Rosneath and Clynder Community Council heard last week that local man Dave Kinsman was planning to organise the community beacon.
It has not yet been decided exactly where it will be sited but it has been suggested that the highest point on the Peninsula, the top of Clach MacKenny.
Mr kinsman is designing a special holder for the beacon fire and members of the community council suggested that a community day could be made out of the event.
