Lying between the Gare Loch and Loch Long in Argyll and Bute, on the north shore of the Firth of Clyde, the Rosneath Peninsula is 6 miles (10 km) in length and between 1 mile (1.5 km) and 2½ miles (4 km) wide.
Its settlements are Garelochhead, Portincaple, Clynder, Rosneath, Kilcreggan, Cove, and Coulport.
The Rosneath peninsula was formerly in the traditional County of Dunbarton until local government reorganisation moved it into the Argyll and Bute council area in 1996.
